Introducing the Addison Kitchen Towel – A Beginner-Friendly Crochet Pattern
Looking to spruce up your kitchen with a handmade touch? The Addison Kitchen Towel is the perfect quick and easy crochet project for beginners and seasoned crocheters alike.
This simple, stylish towel uses only three basic stitches—single crochet, half double crochet, and slip stitch—making it easy to follow even if you’re new to crochet.
The finished piece measures 18 inches long by 12 inches wide. You can easily adjust the width by starting with an odd-numbered chain and tweak the height by repeating the rows of half double crochet.

- All pattern info on this page plus the following:
- Linked timestamps row by row for the video tutorial for easy access.
Notes:
- This crochet pattern is written in US terms.
- Initial chains in a row do not count as a stitch.
- If you want to change the width the initial chain needs to be an odd number
- To change the height you can adjust the number of times the repeat rows of half double crochet stitches are done.
- Finished Size: 18” Long x 12” Wide
- Row 1 is worked in the back loop of the Foundation Chain
- For the Foundation chain, you will want to chain loosely, or you can use a bigger hook size for the foundation chain ONLY to help with making bigger chains (recommended only going up .5 mm to 1mm in size)
Materials:
- A total of 200 yards of a #4 medium-weight cotton yarn is used for this towel.
- If using two colors you would want 55 yards for Color A (outside accent) and about 145 yards for Color B (inside main color)
- The colors used in the picture model are: Lily Sugar’n Cream Cotton Yarn in Ecru and Peaches & Crème Solids Yarn in Gold
- 5.0 mm (H) crochet hook
- Stitch markers (optional)
- Yarn needle to weave in ends.
- Scissors
