While we dealt with the bitter cold the other month here in Virginia I made this blanket to help stay warm while relaxing on the couch at night. This throw was made extra long to double as a blanket while also being my current crochet project (it was a win-win this winter). A double bonus of only using the single crochet and double crochet stitches to keep it easy so you can binge your favorite show while working along on this blanket.
While the blanket being so long does make it use up more yarn, I used Lion Brand’s Pound Of Love Yarn to keep the cost down. Following the color pattern provided you will need a total of 4 skeins. The colors I used were 2 skeins in Sugar Cookie, 1 skein of Pumpkin Spice, and 1 skein of Cascade.

Notes:
- This crochet pattern is written in US terms.
- The finished size is 47” wide x 65.5” long
- If you want to change the width the initial foundation chain needs to be a multiple of 3 + 1
- If you want to change the height of the blanket, each repeat block of color will add ~ 5 inches to the length (12.7 cm).
- Turning chains are not used at the beginning of the main repeat rows.
- Row 1 is worked in the back loop of the Foundation Chain
- For the Foundation chain, you will want to chain loosely, or you can use a bigger hook size for the foundation chain ONLY to help with making bigger chains (recommended only going up .5 mm to 1mm in size)

Starting Stitch for the Double Crochet Rows:
Instead of doing a turning chain, to start a row of double crochet you will turn your work and do a single crochet stitch into the 1st stitch of the row and then do another single crochet into the top of the single crochet you just made.
