This is step by step instructions on how to do the Linked Half Double Crochet Stitch starting with the chain and how to complete a Linked Half Double Crochet on a row of stitches too. You can print these steps out to have incase you need to refer back to them.

Instructions

  1. Chain any number and add 2 to the chain.
  2. Insert your hook into the second chain from the hook. Linked half double crochet step 2, inserting hook into 2nd chain from hook and yarn over
  3. Yarn over and pull up a loop. You should have 2 loops on your hook.
  4. Insert your hook into the next chain (third chain from the hook). Linked half crochet stitch step 4, insert hook into 3rd chain from hook
  5. Yarn over and pull up a loop. You should have 3 loops on your hook.
  6. Yarn over again and pull through all three loops. You should be left with 1 loop on your hook.
  7. Insert your hook into the middle loop of the stitch you just made, yarn over and pull up a loop. (2 loops on hook)
  8. Insert your hook into the next chain, yarn over and pull up a loop. (3 loops on hook)
  9. Yarn over and pull through all 3 loops. (1 loop left on hook)
  10. Repeat steps 7 - 9 until the end of the row.
  11. Turn your crochet over and chain 2.
  12. Insert your hook into the 1st chain that you made, yarn over and pull up a loop. (2 loops on hook)
  13. Insert your hook into the 1st stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop. (3 loops on hook)
  14. Yarn over and pull through all 3 loops on your hook. (1 loop left on the hook)
  15. Insert your hook into the middle loop of the stitch you just made, yarn over and pull up a loop (2 loops on your hook)
  16. Insert your hook into the next stitch in the row, yarn over and pull up a loop (3 loops on your hook)
  17. Yarn over and pull through all 3 loops on your hook. (1 loop left on your hook)
  18. Repeat steps 15 - 17 all across the row, then to do the next row start at step 11 again.
