February marks the coldest part of winter here in the Shenandoah Valley, so I wanted to make something that will be useful and super warm on these super cold days ahead of us for the next month.
I came up with this ripple stitch pattern that makes a smooth wave and put it together with some Bernat Blanket yarn to create this quick and easy crochet lapghan pattern that I was able to stitch up in just a couple of evenings while watching TV.

Pattern Notes:
- This crochet pattern is written in US terms
- Chains at the beginning of the rows count as a double crochet.
- To change the width of this lapghan, the pattern repeat is a multiple of 16 + 15 + 3
- Pattern as written uses 3 multiples.
- Each pattern repeat of 16 stitches adds about 8.5 inches in width when matching gauge.
- To change the height of this lapghan, you can add on rows 6 at a time for the matching color block.
- 2 colors are used in this pattern, the color is switched every 6 rows.
- Each 6 row color block is 7″ high when matching gauge.
Finished Size: 49″ tall x 34″ wide
Gauge: 7 stitches x 5 rows of half double crochet = 4” x 4”
Materials
- 623 yards of a #6 Superbulky Yarn
- Color A: 4 sections for a total of 356 yards
- Color B: 3 sections for a total of 267 yards
- 9.00 mm (M-13) Crochet Hook
- Yarn Needle to weave in ends

- 2 skeins of Bernat Blanket in Vintage White for Color A
- 2 skeins of Bernat Blanket in Smokey Green for Color B
