The weather is still on the “I don’t know what season it really is” but those chilly mornings have me still on the infinity scarf kick for patterns.

This newest pattern uses the even moss stitch. I also used this stitch on my most popular dishcloth pattern: Even Moss Stitch Dishcloth.

I found that when using the even moss stitch on a project like a scarf it is best to keep a loose tension on the yarn. Keeping the tension loose helps stitch up the scarf faster because the slip stitches tend to be a bit tighter than the half double crochet stitches. Working the hook into the slip stitch on the previous row can be quite tedious if you use tight tension.

Which Yarn To Use?

The scarf in the pictures was made using the Lion Brand Heartland yarn in the color Kobuk Valley.

But any worsted weight yarn will work ok for this pattern.

This is a very beginner-friendly infinity scarf to crochet, with the stitches only being a half double crochet and a slip stitch alternating.
