Are you looking for a pattern so you can crochet a simple lightweight summer shawl? Looking for an easy summer shawl crochet pattern that is beginner friendly? We’ve got just the thing: a beginner-friendly shawl pattern that’s easy to customize for size and perfect for new crocheters wanting to dip their hooks into shawl patterns but want to go easy.
What’s great about this pattern is that you can adjust the size of the shawl by changing the number of times you repeat the 5 row repeat. Each 5 row repeat adds 3.5 inches in width and 2 inches in height, so you can make the shawl as big or as small as you like. The pattern as written includes 14 repeats and results in a finished size of 54 inches wide and 34 inches tall.
Even if you’re new to crochet, this pattern is easy to follow. You’ll only need to know a few basic stitches, including chain, double crochet, half double crochet, and triple crochet.
To get the best results, we recommend using Lion Brand Truboo yarn. It offers a lovely drape and doesn’t require blocking once you’re finished. Of course, you can use any yarn you like, but keep in mind that it may require blocking after you are done and the drape of the finished shawl may be different.
So why not give this easy summer shawl crochet pattern a try? It’s a fun and rewarding project that you’ll be proud to wear and show off!

What other yarns would you recommend for this shawl? I tried the truboo and don’t like it
Thanks
You can use any type that you would like. Truboo is a DK weight so if you wanted to use one about that size then another DK weight yarn would be best.
