Cool weather is coming up fast, so be ready with this quick and easy crochet rustic fall scarf that only uses 1 skein of Premier Rustic Bulky Yarn.
This is a free and easy bulky yarn crochet scarf pattern that uses the half double crochet stitch to give you a scarf in just a few hours of stitching. So if you’re looking for something that doesn’t require too much yarn (Only 200 yards of bulky weight yarn for this pattern) and you want a quick project, this might be the perfect scarf pattern for you.
I designed this bulky crochet scarf with new crocheters in mind, making sure not to throw too much into the pattern but still give it a unique look.

I used Premier Rustic Bulky yarn, it’s a #5 weight. If you use this yarn you will only need one skein. You will also need a P crochet hook. If you don’t already have one, I recommend the Susan Bates Crystallites Acrylic Crochet Hook Set. You can get a P hook and 3 other sizes for a great price.

Notes
- This crochet pattern is written in US terms.
- I used approximately 200 yards of Premier Rustic and got about 70 inches in length for this pattern.
- If you want to change the length of the scarf the initial chain needs to be in multiples of 3 + 2
- To change the width you can adjust how many times rows 2 and 3 are repeated.
Materials:
- Premier Rustic Bulky yarn 1 skein or approx 200 yards of a #5 bulky yarn
- 11.5mm (P) crochet hook
- Yarn needle to weave in ends.
- Stitch Markers
Finished Size:
70 inches long x 6.5 inches wide
Crochet Stitches Used and Abbreviations:
- ch – chain
- hdc – half double crochet

Foundation: chain 140
Row 1: hdc in 2nd chain from hook, hdc all across, turn
Row 2: ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), hdc 3 times in the 1st stitch, * skip next 2 stitches, hdc 3 times in next stitch, repeat form * until 3 stitches remain in the row, skip next 2 stitches, hdc in last stitch, turn
Row 3: ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), hdc in 1st stitch, hdc all across, turn
Row 4: repeat row 2
Row 5: repeat row 3
Row 6: repeat row 2
Row 7: repeat row 3
Row 8: repeat row 2
Row 9: repeat row 3, tie off and weave in ends
