If you love stitching up crochet dishcloth patterns, then you will like stitching up the new Spiked Crochet Cotton Dishcloth crochet pattern.

If you’re looking to add a handmade touch to your kitchen essentials or create a thoughtful handmade gift, this dishcloth pattern is a must-try.

Measuring 8″ x 8″, this project uses 100% cotton yarn and a 4.5 mm crochet hook for durability and quality.

What sets this dishcloth apart is its unique spiked sedge stitch. This is a creative take on the classic crochet sedge stitch, but with a twist—each double crochet dives into the row below the one you are working in, adding a “spiked double crochet” that gives a unique texture to the dishcloth.

To make your journey smoother, consider using stitch markers to keep track of your rows. Also, don’t forget to check out the accompanying video tutorial that walks you through every step.

  1. Thank you so much loved the pattern so easy and quick.
I see the bobos, but sister and niece absolutely love it will be making one in green as well.

    1. I’m truly sorry to hear that you’re feeling disappointed. My goal is to share my love for crochet and make it as accessible as possible for everyone, hence offering patterns for free online with ads on the site. I understand the convenience of having a printable version, and I strive to keep the cost as minimal as possible. However, maintaining a website, running a business, and creating new designs do incur costs, and offering a printable PDF version for a small fee on Ravelry or Etsy is one of the ways to offset those expenses, allowing me to continue providing new patterns on the website.

  2. Love the pattern. I was hoping you can help me? There a certain number of stitches, ie. 30 + 1 for a 6” square. I would like mine bigger. How do I figure how many more stitches to add?

    1. The best way would be to make a swatch to see what your stitches are going to work out for. With the example you gave you would take the 30 stitches that go in a 6 inch square and divide the 30 by 6, which will give you 5 stitches per inch. If you wanted to expand the square by 2 inches then you would add 10 stitches.
